Gull Lake Boat Works

Gull Lake Boat Works

Founded in 2008 by owner and operator Marc Russell, Gull Lake Boat Works builds custom wooden canoes and restores all kinds of watercraft. Gull Lake Boat Works was born out of the necessity when Russell was asked to repair and replace the aging fleet at Kilcoo Camp, which he attended for 20 years as both camper and staff member.

Named for the lake on which Kilcoo resides, Gull Lake Boat Works is a small and personal operation where unique vessels are built by hand. An apprenticeship with Master Builder Ron Frennette of Canadian Canoes taught him the craft impeccably. Now he combines traditional designs, modern methods and meticulous workmanship to create one‐of‐a‐kind pieces that are as beautiful to see as they are paddle. With locations both in the GTA and in the Haliburton Highlands, Gull Lake Boat Works has been featured in Cottage Life Magazine and exhibited in at the 2011 Toronto Sportsmen’s Show.

Gull Lake Boat Works is located in the east end of Toronto. Discover the beauty in custom crafted vessels online at glbw.ca
